Sovereign City Communications Closes

Green Bay based Sovereign City Communications closed its doors today. Sov City syndicated a positive AC format which recently debuted it's full on air line up. Stations affected in Wisconsin include 104.3 WECB which carried Wendy Templeton at night and 91.1 WOVM in Appleton. Sov City recently acquired 1550 WZRK in Lake Geneva from Starboard and it currently sits silent, it's future is unknown as well.

The Music of Your Life comes to Minocqua

AM1570 WLKD (Minocqua) has dumped Sports from ESPN in favor of Adult Standards from the Music of Your Life Network.

Clear Channel NOT coming to Green Bay?

As previously reported, Cumulus is trading their Green Bay cluster of stations, minus WZNN, to Clear Channel in exchange for some stations in Cincinnati, OH. Even though Clear Channel will become the new owner of the Green Bay stations, Cumulus will continue to operate the entire cluster under an LMA with a five year buy back period. In a Green Bay Press Gazette article, market manager Greg Jessen explains the swap as "a way to take advantage of current rules and the financial situation for both companies to do what they need to accomplish." WZNN and WWWX are being placed in a trust will and continue to be operated by Cumulus.

Clear Channel to Enter Green Bay

Cumulus and Clear Channel are trading some stations, Cumulus will get WNNF-FM & WOFX-FM in Cincinnati, Ohio from Clear Channel while Clear Channel will get WDUZ-AM/FM, WOGB, WQLH and WPCK. WZNN(Allouez) and WWWX (Oshksoh) are being transfered to another party, one document stating they will placed into an independent trust another stating they will be transfered to WI Radio LLC. WTLX now transmitting from Madison

It is reported that 100.5 WTLX (Monona) is now broadcasting from their new tower near Madison and IDing as Monona-Madison. Things are also progressing for WTTN's move to Columbus. (Tim Jaye)

WTTN getting ready to move to Columbus

It is reported that additional towers are appearing in the Columbus area to accommodate WTTN 1580AM's move. WTTN is moving to Columbus to allow WTLX to move to Monona.

Another FM Translator used to rebroadcast an AM station.

AM 1270 WRJC (Mauston) is using FM translator 92.9 W224BM (Mauston) to broadcast their signal on FM. In some cases the FCC is allowing AM stations to use FM translators to either help with signal issues or allow for nightime coverage. (Corey)

WROE reverts to AC

94.3 WROE (Neenah-Menasha) has reverted back to Adult Contemporary as "Soft Rock 94.3 WROE" dropping it's Adult Hits format and picking up where they left off.

WKTI in Milwaukee: GONE

"94.5 WKTI in Milwaukee dumped their long time Hot AC/Adult CHR format at Noon in favor of 60's - Current Variety Hits. The station is now called ""94.5 Lake FM"" and will end up with WLWK as the call letters. The station will run jockless into the new year. (JS Online)You can listen live at their website."
